Hello friends,

I’m Dr Irfan and I’m the Ayurvedic Practitioner at Merchant Ayurveda, who will be doing your consultations, treatments and counselling if you decide to work with me. We are based in Ayr. I bring a wealth of knowledge, training, skill, care, insight, sensitivity, intuition and compassion to the practice of Ayurveda.

I qualified from Edinburgh Medical School in 1997 and worked as a medical doctor before leaving to pursue my interests in natural healing. I studied for diplomas as an Ayurvedic Diet and Lifestyle Consultant and Ayurvedic Therapist at Ayurveda Pura Academy, London, qualifying from the advanced course as an Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2023.

Having studied both Eastern and Western medical sciences, and with my life experience as a British Asian person of Indian origin, I’m open to modernity while being rooted in the ancient, and educated in both the art of healing and the science of life.

My spiritual devotion is to Advaita, rendering me transparent to the light of pure Consciousness. As well as my Ayurvedic Practice, I am a spiritual teacher offering satsang for all seekers and lovers of truth,
